I was born in Riga, in the former USSR.
I graduated from Riga Technical University in 1995 and completed a two-year program at the New York Institute of Photography in 2001.
Since then, I have been working as a freelance photographer.
My views on photography are constantly changing, transforming, becoming deeper and more subtle. After many years of studying composition, I feel that I need to “forget everything” that I learned, get rid of “judgemental mind” and try to erase the boundaries between my eyes, hands and intuition. This is a very delicate state of mind, similar to meditation – my endless attempt to penetrate the deep layers of the visible world.
